November 13, 2017 – 11,000 pounds of blue spruce was skillfully delivered to The Grove Plaza this morning. The giant tree was moved from a home in the Boise State University neighborhood. It will become the centerpiece for the city’s holiday celebrations, with the tree lighting scheduled for Friday, November 24.
“We just wanted the city to have an awesome Christmas tree,” said Rusty Cook of Cook Brothers Construction in Boise. Rusty and his brother Mike own the property on the 1300 block of Euclid where the tree had sat in front of a small home for approximately 30 years. The Cook Brothers plan to improve the property by adding additional housing and thought the tree would be valuable as a donation.
“Christmas is our favorite holiday”, said Rusty.
